About Sid Harvey Industries


Our company history began in 1931 during the Great Depression in a second-story office in Hempstead, NY when our founder, Sidney W. Harvey, had the vision to see what the future might hold for residential heating. He understood that the days of people using coal stoves were coming to an end. The era of automatic oil heating was just beginning and from his Hempstead office, Mr. Harvey began his distribution business. As oil burner sales grew, he envisioned that another market would soon open up. A reliable source for oil heating replacement parts would be needed. In short order, he opened a factory remanufacturing these parts in Valley Stream and thus, the unique nature of our business was born. Sid Harvey’s is truly unique in the industry, being both a distributor and a manufacturer.

Another distinction that Sid Harvey’s enjoys is that it is a multi-disciplinary distributor. Most distributors confine their product offering to a limited product range, but Sid Harvey’s carries a wide variety of residential and commercial products used by the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration trades.

Today, Sid Harvey’s operates a network of 83 branches and distribution centers from Maine to South Carolina on the East Coast, moving west throughout the Midwest to the Rocky Mountain region. The branches are supplied with more than 50,000 SKU products on a continual basis from our distribution center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Our manufacturing plant in Andrews, SC is the source for more than 1,700 Sid Harvey brand name products, both new and remanufactured.

Over time, Sid Harvey’s evolved from a supplier to solutions provider. The Company has been a trailblazer in the development of innovative service programs designed to increase our customers’ profitability. Sid Harvey’s designed the industry’s first truck-stock program and today our CS Program (Customer Solutions) supports more than 1,000 technicians.
